Hi, I'm Maia.

(Pronounced Maya)

I'm a visually obsessed, native New Yorker, who's always searching for the coolest in design, food & travel.

Over the last 5 years, I left a well established career in healthcare to pursue my passion for design and writing.  This website is my little piece of inspiration, thoughts & adventures as I seek out the most creative spaces  & experiences around the world.

I hope you find this inspiring & share with me what inspires you as well! I'd love to hear from you. Thank you for visiting!

xx,

Maia

A Weekend Trip to San Fransisco, Oakland, and Napa Valley

A Weekend Trip to San Fransisco, Oakland, and Napa Valley

Believe it or not, this was my first time in California! We decided on a quick weekend trip, and tried to pack in as much as we could into 3 days. After landing, we toured the city streets and hit all of the major tourist attractions including the Ferry Building Marketplace and Coit Tower.

On our second day we stopped in Oakland for coffee and pastries at Doughnut Dolly, then went on a hike down to Stinson Beach. We were so tired by the time we reached the beach, that we had to call a cab to get back to our car! I am not sure which was scarier, the hike down the side of a mountain (I'm an NYC girl-I don't do mountains) OR the cab ride back with a driver who literally was so excited we were all in his cab that he didn't look at the winding road for more than 2 seconds at a time! Glad we made it back.

On our last day, and decided on a road trip to Napa Valley after our friends suggested we visit. We pretty much winged it, drove up there to visit a few wineries along the main highway, and didn't know what to expect. Reservations weren't necessary at the places we stopped, which made it that much easier! We made 3 stops that day, (Robert Mondavi, Francis Ford Coppola, and Chandon) and had such an awesome time we are planning a group vacation there soon! Each winery offered tours and tastings, along with their own unique vibe.
